Downloading your e-Aadhaar card: multiple options

You can download your e-Aadhaar card, the electronic version of your Aadhaar, which is equally valid as a physical copy and digitally signed by the UIDAI. There are several ways to do this

1. Via the UIDAI (MyAadhaar) portal

  • Visit the official UIDAI website or the MyAadhaar portal at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/genricDownloadAadhaar/en.
  • Select “Download Aadhaar” and choose to download using your Aadhaar Number, Enrolment ID (EID), or Virtual ID (VID).
  • Enter the required details (Aadhaar number, EID with date and time, or VID) and the captcha code.
  • Click “Send OTP” and enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  • You have the option to download a masked Aadhaar.
  • Click “Verify and Download” to get your e-Aadhaar PDF.

2. Via the mAadhaar app

  • Download the mAadhaar app from your app store.
  • Log in and go to the dashboard to select “Download Aadhaar”.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number, VID, or EID, complete the captcha, and request/enter the OTP.
  • Download your e-Aadhaar PDF. 

3. Via DigiLocker

  • Visit the DigiLocker website or use the app.
  • Log in and search for “Aadhaar Card” in “Search Document”.
  • Provide your Aadhaar details, verify with OTP, and find your e-Aadhaar in “Issued Documents” for download.

4. Via the UMANG portal

  • Visit the UMANG portal at web.umang.gov.in or use the app.
  • Log in and navigate to the “Aadhaar” section.
  • Click “Download Aadhaar,” enter your Aadhaar number or VID, verify with OTP, and click “Verify & Download” for your PDF. 

Important points

  • Your downloaded e-Aadhaar PDF is password-protected.
  • The password is the first four letters of your name (capitalized) followed by your birth year (YYYY).
  • A registered mobile number is required to receive the OTP for verification
